#YOURPLANETNEEDSYOUKAUAI
Aloha everyone, we are a group of high school students who, in the process of making a difference, joined Leadership Kauaʻi to help raise public awareness on Climate Change. As many of you know, the world is changing, and as we are surrounded by water, we will be directly affected by this. Many local businesses and residences, along with Kauaʻi’s unique biodiversity, will be affected by increased temperatures and rising sea levels. This is why we are holding this challenge; we hope that through this we will inspire more environmentally-aware reflections and actions. Taking care of our planet benefits us all, and you guys also have the opportunity to win over $250 in prizes!
There are two parts to this challenge - the Instagram challenge and the Ohana Challenge. You can decide to complete either one, or you can decide to complete both. Read on to learn more about your challenge options.
THE INSTAGRAM CHALLENGE BREAKDOWN
This month's challenges include small environmentally sound actions, which can be found listed in the Challenge Resources page (1-18).
We encourage you to do as many tasks throughout December.
For every Task completed, you get One Entry of your name into the prize drawing. You will need to take a picture as proof that a task has been completed. Although you can make multiple posts throughout the month, we ask that you combine your photos (using slides, photogrid, etc.) into as few Instagram posts as possible to make it easier for us to track and see your entries. If we didn’t ‘Like’ your post, that means we didn’t see it. Feel free to Tag us again in your post so we get another notification.
Complete the most task for a chance to win the "Climate Warrior" prize. And there is no limit so go all out. Just make sure to post your entry before the Dec. 31st deadline.
To complete a challenge, take a picture of you doing each of the task and post it on Instagram. You also need the correct tags and to follow @YouGotThisKauai, @TheKauaiResilience Project & @LeadershipKauai- Instagram Handles
To have your IG posts qualify for the prize drawing,
follow these 3 simple steps:

Choose a task from the list provided. Take a picture of you doing each task and post it on Instagram.
Make sure to include in your post description the task you have chosen.
Tasks posted correctly enters you into the prize drawing.
BONUS CHALLENGE:
Climate Warrior - Person who does the most tasks
wins a $50 gift card prize.
Must post a photo of each task and include list in the description.

To avoid entry disqualification, make sure to follow ALL instructions and requirements posted. Must be a student age13+ years old and a full-time resident of Kauai to participate. Inappropriate content will automatically be disqualified.

THE OHANA CHALLENGE BREAKDOWN
This month's challenges include small environmentally sound actions, which can be found listed in the Challenge Resources page (1-18) which can easily be submitted through our Instagram Challenge platform.
To participate in the Ohana Challenge portion, you'll need to do the challenge and complete the google form to submit your entry. The google form to input your challenges will be sent out at the beginning of every week, but you will have the whole week to fill it out. It is not required to complete every challenge.

Each #YourPlanetNeedsYouKauai task submitted through the Ohana Challenge google form will be closely monitored by our Youth Climate Change Team. Make sure to follow all instructions outlined on the google form to secure your entry into our $250 gift certificate grand prize drawing. The more tasks you complete, the greater your chances of winning a prize.
